Hey, you.
You sweet girl trying so hard to be everything at once and trying to please everyone, trying to juggle all of it on your own. You try so hard to be strong enough, even though you don't feel strong at all. Instead you feel weak and tired, like you don't know how you can keep handling everything you have been. You feel like giving up because you don't think you can carry on any longer. Let me tell you something. As His princess, you are strong enough for whatever you're going through in life. Not because you possess the strength. But because He lives in you, and His strength is enough. And you know what's even more awesome? His power is made perfect in your weakness. When you are weak, He is strong. When you are weak, He is glorified. So, honestly? Our weakness is actually a good thing. Because if we were strong enough on our own, we would think we could handle everything by ourselves. But the truth is that we can't. So in our weakness, we can more clearly see His power and strength moving in our lives. "And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." (2 Corinthians 12:9) What a promise. We don't have to be strong enough on our own. Because He is strong enough for us. Oh, and another word to the one feeling like they have too much on them and they can't go on any more. He has another promise for you too... "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28) When you are feeling like you're not strong at all and like you have no strength left, go to Him. Rest in His strength that is holding you. Rest in His love. So, sweet heart, you are strong enough for whatever battling you're facing today. Because He is strong enough. Never forget. ♥

Happy Wednesday, sweet girls! Ah, it seems like it's been forever since I've written one of these!
I'm so sorry about my absence! Last week I had the stomach flu and was sick, so I missed writing the Weekly Princess Inspiration, and then this past Monday it totally slipped my mind! Ah! So instead of missing another week completely, I'm still posting, just a couple days late, but I hope you don't mind! ;) On Monday I'll begin posting normally again! Well, dear heart, my message for you today is simply this... You are courageous. You might be looking at me like I'm crazy or hanging your head in regrets while thinking, "I'm not courageous at all!" Or maybe, "I wish I would've been more courageous and brave in my life." Give me just a moment to lift your chin up and look into those beautiful eyes of yours as I whisper some truth to your soul this Wednesday. Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is not being fearless. Courage is fighting the fear and winning the battle anyway. You see, fear is a battle. Fear is a war. And when you let it win, it's like a prison with bars that keep you locked away. Locked away from your dreams, your vision, and your future. Fear is the lie that whispers in your ear all of the things that could go wrong, all of the reasons you shouldn't do it, and all of the what if situations. But you, brave girl, have been given the heart of a warrior to fight this battle. Because the truth is that your Prince, your Hero, is the One who says to you, "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10) And in 2 Timothy 1:7 we are told that, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." Don't you see the truth? You have no reason to be afraid. You have no reason to live your life in fear. Because your Chain Breaker has already broken the chains of your fear and He stands with you and has given you a new spirit. Does this mean you won't ever feel afraid or feel fear? Absolutely not. Even though being onstage and performing with my sister is my joy, I still get terribly afraid before I walk onto that stage. Even though writing and sharing my words with others is my greatest joy and passion, I'm still terrified to do so because of what people might think. And you'll feel it too. Whatever it is that you are meant to do and called to do, will probably make you afraid. Because the enemy knows how amazing it will be when you pursue God's plan for your life, so he tries to stop you with the daggers of fear in your heart. So you don't win this war by putting on a façade of fearlessness. You don't win this war by fighting to not be afraid. You don't win this war by trying to prove that you're fearless. No. You win this war by doing that brave thing, in spite of the fear. You win this war by admitting that you are scared and that you can't do it without Jesus, and yet pressing on in His strength anyway. You win this war by being courageous, even when you're trembling in fear. So, brave heart, won't you keep moving forward and doing the next brave thing God asks of you? I know you can do it. He has made you courageous. Keep fighting bravely. Oh, girls, isn't God so good to us?
Honestly, it can be so easy to take things for granted and focus on the hard parts, not the blessings. I'm so guilty of this! It can be easy to complain and get frustrated when plans change for the day, instead of focusing on the good. And you know what, dear princess? I'm not saying circumstances don't hurt. Your heart might be broken right now. But here's the truth. Even when things are falling apart, even when we don't have everything we want, even when everyone leaves...we are still blessed beyond what we can imagine. How? Because His love is with us every day. His love overflows every part of our lives. And His love is the greatest blessing and gift we've ever been given. Here's another whisper of hope for your evening: "I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the Lord, who call you by your name, am the God of Israel." (Isaiah 45:3) He doesn't promise there won't be times of darkness. He doesn't promise there won't be hard times. But He does promise treasures and hidden riches in the midst of them. Hidden blessings. Will you search them out tonight? Will you search for the blessing in your darkness tonight and rejoice in the fact that, even in pain, you are blessed? Blessed because His love never leaves. Blessed because His love never forsakes. Blessed because His love is so undeserved but so incredible at the same time. Praise You, Jesus, for blessing us beyond what we deserve. ♥ Ever since I was a little girl I've wanted to change the world.
I wanted to impact this world in a way that was so much bigger than myself. I wanted to do something great for God. During my earlier teen years I struggled a lot with feeling like I wasn't doing anything big in this world. I for sure wasn't out there ending world hunger, playing with kids in a third world country, or freeing girls from slavery. So what was I doing at all to change the world? Maybe you feel the same way? Maybe you feel like you're not making any difference in this world either because you're not standing on a stage in front of millions or your name isn't at the top of the New York Times Bestseller list. Maybe you feel like nothing you do matters and there's no way someone like you could possibly change the world. Well, do you want to know a secret? A secret that changed my life? You're already a world changer. You see, you weren't created to change the whole world yourself. But you are called to change your world. And in the midst of the craziness of life, in between the dishes and the youth group events, there is a hero that is inside of you aching to change your world. How could I possibly be changing my world? You may ask me. Well, let me explain. Every single one of us has a circle of influence in our lives. Let's start with your family. Your parents, of course. Maybe you have siblings. How are you impacting their lives? When we invest in the lives of our family members, we're making a difference in their lives. That little sister that always annoys you? Maybe someday she'll grow up to be the next famous singer or actress. Will you be able to say that you encouraged her and invested in her life? Do the dishes with a smile on your face, surprise your mom with cupcakes, play board games with your little siblings, write encouragement letters to your older siblings. Then your friends. Think of the special people in your life who God has given to you to be a friend to. What about your best friend? How are you impacting her life? Be there when she needs a hug or someone to talk to, surprise her with ice cream and pizza. What about the people you come in contact with every day? You may not think your interaction with them makes any difference at all. The people at church, at school, your co-workers. Is your interaction with them inspiring and uplifting? Maybe some of them you'll never see again...the lady at the grocery store, the man on the street corner, the crowds at the bus station. No matter how short the interaction, don't waste it. Give a smile, lend a helping hand, give up your ice cream money to the man on the street, pay for the stranger's groceries behind you. Do you see my point here? The smallest act of grace and kindness can change the world for someone. And that someone? Maybe they'll take the inspiration you gave to them and they'll go change the world for the person next to them. A single spark starts a wildfire. A single drop of rain starts a flood. A simple ripple creates a wave. So, dear princess, let me look deep into your eyes while I remind you. You are changing your world right now. And it is enough. The way you are impacting the lives of those around you? It is amazing. And your Prince? Well, He's smiling down on you whispering "Well done," to your soul. So keep on changing your world, girl. Your light shines so bright. ♥ You know those times when you know that you've completely messed up?
You've totally ruined whatever situation it is that you are now in, and you know you've messed up big time. And you know those times when the sin in your life destroyed so many things you loved, and at the end of it you just wish you could do it all again? We've all been there. Each one of us has messed up and made the wrong choice. We've each done something we've regretted. But those times when you messed up so bad you don't think anyone could forgive you, and you for sure couldn't forgive yourself? The truth is...you're already forgiven. God says that He has blotted out your sins and forgiven all your offenses! But that's not where He stops! He also says that He will remember your sins no more. Don't believe me? Take a look... "I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins." (Isaiah 43:25 NKJV) Pretty amazing, isn't it? So those nights when you lie awake thinking back on the wrong choices you made and wishing you could redo them? He doesn't even remember them. So breathe, my friend. Take a deep breath and breathe in this amazing, radical forgiveness. Because He lets them go, you can too and you can stand in the amazing identity of being redeemed. No matter what you've done, it is covered by the blood of Jesus. And His blood is enough for everything. ♥ Hello, beautiful princess. I just wanted to drop into your evening tonight and whisper some truth into your heart that you might have forgotten.
You're amazing. That's right. You are. And I'm not the only one who thinks so... "I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well." (Psalm 139:14) When God created humans, the Bible says, "Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good." (Genesis 1:31) He declared you very good. His work in creating you was marvelous! You are wonderfully created, handmade by the One who created every star in the sky. If that doesn't make you feel pretty amazing, I don't know what would! Dear girl, I know life can be hard sometimes and you can feel anything but amazing. You have your own list of words that could describe you, but not one of them comes close to very good, marvelous, wonderful, or amazing. Let me whisper something in your ear tonight. To God you are already amazing. To God you are already marvelous. No other opinion matters. So keep your chin up and your crown straightened, and let His amazing love shine through you! Keep being amazing, princess. ♥ You know that voice inside your head that whispers you are not enough?
I know you've heard it before. We all have at some point in our lives. It whispers from the magazine racks that you are not thin enough, not pretty enough. It whispers from the grade cards in school that you are not smart enough. It whispers from the sidelines of the sports games that you are not athletic enough to get chosen on a team. It whispers from the play auditions, the music auditions, that you were not gifted enough to land a spot in the group. And it attacks you from every side with its deadly whisper that....you are just not good enough. But the thing you never knew about this whisper? It's lying. Not once has this whisper ever told you the truth. Not when it convinced you that you weren't as pretty or thin as all the other girls. Not when it convinced you that your grades weren't as good as they should be and you weren't smart enough to ever get them higher. Not when it tugged on you that you weren't athletic enough to get picked for the team and not when it whispered that if you were only more gifted you would've been chosen for that acting role or that band. And especially not when it wrapped its deadly lies around your mind to convince you that no matter what you do, you just aren't good enough. Not one of those things was the truth. It was all lies. The devil likes to plant little whispers of lies in our minds to cloud our true vision. You know why? Because if we believed the truth, he wouldn't be able to stop us from becoming all of what God created us to be. If you believed that you weren't pretty enough compared to everyone else, then you wouldn't be able to walk in the confidence that you are the gorgeous, priceless princess of the King. If you believed that one rejection defined you as not good enough for anything or anyone else, then you wouldn't have the courage to keep going and being all who God wants you to be. So, dear princess, here's a little bit of truth for your Monday. You are enough. Not because of what you've done or not done. But because of all that He's done for you. The blood of Jesus was enough. His love is enough. And when it covers you, He makes you enough too. He fills you with enough of His love and grace to do exactly what He has planned for you in this world. So next time that old devil whispers at you with those lies that you're not good enough? You tell him about the One who is enough in you. And then you go walk in that truth. Have you ever stood in front of the mirror, staring at your reflection, and telling yourself all the ways you don't measure up?
You think your nose is too big, you have too many freckles, your smile is crooked, your ears look weird, you're not thin enough...and the list goes on. As girls we are attacked daily with messages that fill our minds with lies. Messages from the TV that say, "If you buy this or that it'll help you acheive true beauty." Messages from the magazine racks that say, "10 steps to being beautiful," or "You have to act this way to get people to notice your beauty." Messages from pop culture that say, "You have to dress this way or talk this way to be beautiful. Showing more skin makes you more beautiful." On and on it goes. These messages all think they are the answer to true beauty. They all think they know what it takes to be truly beautiful and desired. But the problem? They've got it all wrong. They don't really know what true beauty is at all, so how could they ever know how to attain it? "You are altogether beautiful, My love; there is no flaw in you." (Song of Solomon 4:7 ESV) These are words of God to you! They aren't just words spoken by two lovers to one another. They are words spoken by God to you as well. And He says you are already beautiful. "I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well." (Psalm 139:14 NKJV) He made you wonderfully! Nothing God creates is anything less than wonderful and beautiful. But what exactly is true beauty? "Do not let your adornment be merely outward--arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel --rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." (1 Peter 3:3-4 NKJV) And this is where we see the error of the world. For the world looks at what they can see and judges beauty based on what looks good to them. Yet even a red, juicy apple can look beautiful and desirable on the outside, but the inside might be brown and rotted. So, dear princess of the King, you must believe that you are already beautiful. Not because of what you look like on the outside, although that is surely beautiful too. But because your heart belongs to the King. Those lies that the world throws at you about what you must do to measure up and acheive beauty, are just that... lies. Let your beauty come from within. Let your beauty shine from a heart that is devoted to Jesus and loving Him deeper. There is truly nothing more beautiful in this world than the heart of a girl running hard after her Jesus. Next time you don't feel beautiful compared to the worlds standards and lies? Remember the One who says that you are altogether beautiful. And His opinion is the greatest one of all. Oh, dear princesses, I hope you are having a lovely evening! Today I am beginning my weekly princess inspiration right here for each of you :) I'm sorry today's post is so late, the website would not cooperate with me, haha!
As I thought of what inspiration I wanted to leave you with to start your week off, I thought of this phrase, "you are loved." Because what better way to enter your new week and the new year, than embracing the truth about how much you are truly loved? Isn't it so hard to keep up with the demands of the world? Telling you what you must and must not do to be loved? The world throws lies at us daily with images of how we must look or how we must dress to be loved. They lie to us about how we must act to be loved and what we must do to be loved. But the truth? You're already loved beyond what you could ever imagine. And the best part of that truth? You don't have to do one single thing to earn that love and there's not one single thing you could ever do to lose that love. The Creator of the world, the One who holds every star in place, carefully crafted your every part, and as He did He looked at you with a smile on His face and love in His heart. He was so madly, crazy in love with you that He paid the ultimate price to be with you and hold you in His arms forever. He is the ultimate Knight in shining armor who has come to rescue you and always remind you that no matter what the world tells you, nothing could ever take away His love. His love will never walk away, never leave you. Let this truth soak into your soul today: "The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: 'Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you." ~Jeremiah 31:3 So next time the world comes at you with their lies that you must earn love and you must be flawless or you will lose that love? Smile like the princess that you are, hold your head high, and let them know...you are already crazy loved. And His love is enough. ♥ Hello, lovely princesses!
So if you've been looking around my website, by now you understand a little bit more about your identity in Christ and your royal calling as a princess of God. But I'm sure you're aquainted with how easy it is to know something, and how much more difficult it is to actually do something about what you know. That's what this little section of my website is all about. It's all about encouraging you on your adventure to live like the princess that you are. Each Monday I will post here a short letter to you, my fellow princesses, to inspire and encourage you to live out your identity in the coming week. After all, we're in this adventure of life together and we're made to help each other along the way. This is the place where we can come together and learn more about being a princess together. So what do you say? Will you walk this adventure with me? My first official post will be coming on Monday, January 2nd. :) Walk as a princess, dear girl. And live to make Him proud. |
